SecondoCerchio

RECENSIONI

“The black-pepper and herbal notes here work very successfully with the dark-cherry, light-eucalyptus and vanilla character. Full-bodied and nicely structured, boasting just the right amount of acidity to balance the plush fruit.”

James Suckling su Catturasogni 2016

“Dried raspberries, strawberries, cedar and dust. Full-bodied and quite juicy with edgy, clear-cut tannins and a dash of refreshing acidity. Chewy on the finish.”

James Suckling su Rubis 2016

“A firm, tight red with dark-berry, coffee and cedar aromas and flavors. Medium body. Medium-chewy tannins and a flavorful finish.”

James Suckling su Vento Fermo 2015

“Dried red cherries, red plums, cherry cake and cedar. Medium-bodied and lightly tannic, this is an elegant and quite sophisticated wine to drink now.”

James Suckling su Canto dell’Acqua Chianti Classico Riserva 2016

Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Sangiovese.
Deep, almost impenetrable ruby. Opulent nose of dark fruit with a hint of liquorice powder. Plenty of sweet fruit framed by firm tannins and with a chocolate hint on the finish. Long and with freshness and tanginess coming from the Sangiovese component of this blend.”

Walter Speller su Catturasogni 2016

75% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 14–16 months in barrique.
Deep, lustrous ruby. Nutty, sweet tobacco and dark-fruit nose with malty hints. There is the beginning of undergrowth, but with aeration opens up to sweet, dark fruit. Supple and succulent palate that is elegant rather than powerful – as normally you would expect of these ‘Supertuscans’. Fine, coating tannins that stick to the palate. Has a refreshing quality to it.”

Walter Speller su Rubis 2016

A rosato made of Sangiovese, Pinot Noir and Syrah.
Pale strawberry pink. Sweet and leesy with a note of fruit drops. Ripe strawberry fruit with good acidity and much dryer than last year’s version. A good all-rounder. ”

Walter Speller su Archè 2018

100% Sangiovese.
Mid ruby with orange tinges. Cherry fruit shot through by herb liqueur. Tangy, yet rich fruit with contrasting bitter tannins. Firm, slightly stalky finish, but with plenty of fruit.”

Walter Speller su Vento Fermo 2015

“Mid to deep ruby. Perfumed sour-cherry nose with a sweetly perfumed, candied top note. Sappy, concentrated cherry fruit on the palate with quite a bit of firm tannins. The heat and the ripeness of the 2015 vintage shine through with hints of dried fruit and cinnamon of the oak. Bags of chewy tannins and tangy fruit on the finish. Proper Riserva quality.”

Walter Speller su Canto dell’Acqua 2016

“Mid ruby. Deep, sweet red-fruit nose with a hint of cocoa dusting. Ripe, sweet and concentrated red-fruit palate that possesses more oomph than your regular Chianti but lacks a little the tanginess of proper Sangiovese.”

Walter Speller su Il Principe 2017

90% Sangiovese, 10% Chardonnay. The base wine stays on the lees for at least four months before it is filled in bottle where it undergoes the secondary fermentation. […].
Pale salmon, and extra praise for this blend dominated by Sangiovese. And it shows on the nose too, with stalky, sweet cherry fruit with lemony notes. Little autolysis notes which is a good thing, and with a fine lasting prickle on the tongue […]”

Walter Speller su “Nove” Spumante Metodo Classico

“Dried red cherries, cedar, nutmeg and herbs. Medium body, some really pretty acidity and a fine finish. Drink now.”

James Suckling su Rubis 2014

“Bright essence-like notes of blackcurrants and blackberries with vanilla and spices. Full body, plenty of oozing dark fruit and a medium-chewy finish. Drink now.”

James Suckling su Catturasogni 2014

“A tight and focused rosé with cantaloupe, sliced apples and some orange-peel character. Medium-bodied and soft yet fresh. A delicious finish. A blend of sangiovese, pinot nero and syrah. Drink now. ”

James Suckling su Archè 2017

“A vivid red with dark berry, hints of chocolate and hazelnut. Medium to full body, silky and a fresh tannis and a fresh finish. MAde from blend of sangiovese, merlot and cabarnet franc. Drink or hold.”

James Suckling su Catturasogni 2013

“Plenty of blackberry, walnut and cocoa powder follow throgh to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a flavorful finish. Drink now.”

James Suckling su Rubis 2009

“[…] high quality for body, bouquet, lengh, elegance, pleasantness and armony in all his components.”

The WineHunter su Catturasogni 2013

“Concentrated ruby. Supple, tangy dark fruit. Straightforward, appetising and with chewy tannins and quite a bit of flirtatious oak. ”

Walter Speller su Catturasogni 2014

“Dark ruby. Rich nose of sweet fruit and fruitcake and already showing some development. Sweet, concentrated and long and with good acidity. Quite attractive and with polished tannins and at its peak now, while the dry tannins begin to shine through. ”

Walter Speller su Rubis 2009

“Lustrous ruby. Leafy hints over a concentrated cherry fruit nose. Tangy yet rich fruit with a layer of ripe tannings. More concentration but less intriguing than the 2014 version.”

Walter Speller su Catturasogni 2013

“Baileys and black fruit nose, and concentrated black fruit and pannacotta on the palate, but the fruit manages to take over on the finish. […]”

Walter Speller su Rubis 2014

“Very pale salmon. Perfumed cherry nose and fresh cherry and lemon fruit on the palate […] ”
